Blenheim House, Derby

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, named after an important person from Derbyshire, were very quiet, providing us with an excellent night’s rest. However, they could use a good tidying up despite being clean and having all the necessary amenities like a hairdryer, TV, and tea-making facilities with biscuits.

The hotel is located in a lovely village, close to many main attractions. The spacious rooms above the bar and restaurant come with all the expected amenities, but the shower light was tricky to operate. The service was subpar with cleanliness issues in the room, although the staff were friendly. The location is ideal for exploring the surroundings but might be challenging to find due to narrow roads. The dining experience was enjoyable, offering good quality food at a reasonable price. Facilities are basic but functional.

The hotel offers a lovely atmosphere with very friendly ambience and great service. The food is tasty, and the bed provides a comfortable night's sleep. However, the rooms are very small with a badly laid out bathroom and an old style electric water heater in the shower, affecting water pressure. The location is convenient but challenging to find on narrow roads, waking up to church bells. The dining experience is enjoyable, with various options including freshly cooked food, although no draught bitter available. Facilities are satisfactory.

The hotel's rooms were dated and small but appointed with a gorgeous bathroom. I had to ask for more towels as there were only enough for one person in a double room. The service was welcoming and helpful, even leaving a lovely gesture for our wedding anniversary. The location was very convenient, though slightly hard to find, with a historic charm. The dining experience was of good standard at a reasonable price, and the facilities were decent.
